What is a Maker?
A maker means that you place a limit order at a price lower or higher than the market price set by yourself. After placing the order, you will not immediately trade with other orders in the depth list, but enter the depth list and wait for the transaction. If there is no matching order in the market for the time being, then this order will remain in the depth list waiting to be traded.
What is a taker?
Taking an order refers to the act of actively transacting with the order in the depth list, that is, the act of placing an order directly according to the order price in the order depth list, and immediately transacting with the order in the depth list.
If your demand for taking orders is large, and the number of corresponding orders in the depth list cannot meet your demand for taking orders, in the case of limit orders and no cancellation of orders, your orders that have not met the quantity requirements will become pending orders waiting in the depth list and continue to wait for the transaction.
